PROCESSING TIMES

Our processing times typically range from 2 to 10 business days, depending on how busy we are (translation: how many of you decided to stock up your reading nooks at the exact same time). During special sales, website restocks, or big new collection launches, please allow an additional 3 to 5 business days. Your patience truly makes our coffee-fueled packaging marathons possible!

PROCESSING VS. SHIPPING

Processing time is the period we spend carefully packing your bookmarks, slipping them into their protective sleeves, and making sure your parcel is absolutely perfect. Shipping time is how long your package spends traveling to your mailbox once it leaves our hands. They are two totally separate clocks. Unfortunately, we don’t currently offer any options to purchase faster processing (there is no VIP fast-pass through our reading line just yet).

 

 

SHIPPING YOUR ORDER

We are unfortunately unable to combine orders after checkout. While it sounds simple on paper, it tends to tangle up our physical inventory systems and makes human error a reality. If you forgot to add a specific design to your cart, never fear! We can manually adjust your order as long as it has not shipped out yet. Just send us an email, and we can prepare a separate checkout link to keep things nice, even, and bound together.

 

 

DELIVERY & CARRIERS

Once your shipping label is ready or your envelope is stamped, you will receive a fulfillment notification email. If you selected our tracked shipping tier, this email will include tracking information so you can refresh it as often as you'd like (no judgment, we obsessively check our book mail deliveries too). It may take an additional 2 business days for the post office to scan the package and show active movement.

Actual delivery times depend entirely on the postal service’s mood that week.

 

 

DOMESTIC SHIPPING RATES (UNITED STATES ONLY)

We ship exclusively within the United States (including all 50 states and US territories). All delivery times are estimates, not guarantees, and they do not include our internal processing window. In other words, we will pack your order as quickly as promised, but once it is in the hands of the carrier, the clock is theirs to run. We primarily ship with the United States Postal Service (USPS), and delivery typically takes 1–7 business days.

 

Your shipping rate is calculated automatically at checkout based on the total weight of your items:

 

FREE Shipping — Automatically applies to all orders with a subtotal of $35.00 or more!

 

$7.99 — Standard Lightweight Shipping: For small orders of pens or a few bookmarks. Shipped inside a protective rigid or bubble mailer.

$10.99 — Standard Medium Shipping: For heavier bookmark bundles or single journal orders. Shipped inside a rigid mailer or protective bubble envelope.

$14.99 — Heavy Bundle Shipping: For multiple journals or medium mixed bundles. Shipped inside a secure, sturdy box for maximum protection.

$17.99 — Large Bundle Shipping: For expanded orders containing multiple journals, pens, and larger bookmark quantities. Shipped inside a secure, sturdy box.

$21.99 — Maximum Bulk Shipping: Our highest standard shipping rate for the largest mixed orders (including purchasing the full collection of all shop items). Shipped inside a secure, sturdy box.

 

All shipments include full end-to-end milestone tracking.

 

LOST OR STOLEN PACKAGES

Once your order leaves our facility, physical responsibility shifts to you and the mail carrier. The Writers & Readers Co is not liable for carrier delays, undeliverable residential addresses, rejected envelopes, or lost-in-transit adventures.

If a tracked package is marked as "Returned to Sender" due to an incorrect address error, the customer is responsible for covering the secondary shipping costs to mail it out again.

 

 

INSURANCE + CLAIMS

For orders upgraded to our $7.99 USPS Ground Advantage parcel tier, shipping carrier insurance is automatically included (up to $100 via USPS). Customers are responsible for filing any damage or loss claims directly with USPS within 30 days of the shipment date.

 

 

FINAL SALE POLICY

We do not accept returns or exchanges. This policy ensures that every single bookmark, journal, or accessory you receive from our shop is completely brand new, unused, and pristine. We will never restock or re-ship a returned stationery item. Please double-check your cart choices before finalizing checkout. Commitment is key (and we want you to absolutely love the designs you picked!). If you are on the fence about a color palette or paper texture, reach out via email before buying and we will gladly guide you.

 

 

CANCELLATION POLICY

We get it—sometimes minds change and book budgets need to be reallocated. We accept order cancellations within 24 hours of placing your order, as long as your items have not already been packed or shipped. Once a fulfillment notification hits your inbox, the order is considered final sale and can no longer be canceled.

 

 

PRODUCT VARIATIONS

Due to the small-batch nature of commercial digital printing presses, very slight variations in print alignment, color saturation, or sizing cuts may occur from batch to batch. These tiny differences do not affect the utility of your item; they are simply a natural part of our small-business, independent design charm.

 

 

NORMAL WEAR + TEAR

Over time, all premium paper-based and stationery items experience normal wear from active use. Things like direct sunlight exposure, natural oils from your hands, and being tucked inside well-traveled books can affect paper and inks over time. Slight edge fraying, page indentation, or minor color fading are considered normal signs of an aging bookmark, not manufacturing defects. Think of it as your bookmark gaining a little unique character along its reading journey!

 

 

DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS

If your item arrives with a genuine manufacturing defect or printing error, we will gladly replace it within 14 days of receipt. Simply contact our human support team with your order details and a clear photo of the defect, and we will get a fresh replacement shipped right out to you.
